Another crime that never was!

by isleofman.com 25th January 2011

POLICE have revealed an alleged theft they appealed for witnesses for never happened.

It is the second day running police have announced there has been a simple explanation for something which was reported as a crime.

Police put out an appeal for witnesses after they said a 12 volt DeWalt Drill had been stolen after they were told it was left on the pavement in Victoria Street, Douglas.

The alleged crime was supposed to have happened on January 19.

But it turns out the owner actually left the tool on top of his van and drove away.

The drill was found further down the road and as a result of a broadcast about the alleged crime the finder has realised it should be taken to a police station where it can be given back to its owner.

Yesterday we reported on how an alleged theft of fuel from a boat turned out to be a blockage in the boat's fuel pipe.
