Hospice Isle of Man is Manx2.com's charity of the year

by isleofman.com 25th January 2011

MANX2.com - which will celebrate its fifth birthday later this year - has nominated Hospice Isle of Man as its chosen charity for 2011.

The Isle of Man based company is donating 52 flights to it, one for every week of the year.

These tickets will be used throughout 2011 to help Hospice raise funds towards their £3.5 million costs per year.

The inaugural tickets are being used as part of the 'Donate your unwanted Christmas gifts to Hospice' initiative.

Once an individual drops a gift into Hospice they will be entered into a draw to win the first two of these tickets.

The gifts will be used as raffle prizes at forthcoming events.

Manx2.com staff have also committed to raise money and awareness for the charity throughout 2011.

The staff did a fantastic job during 2009 helping the children's hospice, Rebecca House and were keen this time to get involved again.

Hospice chief executive Margaret Simpson said: "We already have an excellent working relationship with Manx2.com and were thrilled when Hospice was nominated to be supported by the team.

"The contribution of these tickets is a real bonus to the fundraising team and very much appreciated."

Manx2.com chairman Noel Hayes said: "I know the difference Hospice and its staff can make to patients and their families needing treatment so we are more than happy to commit these tickets and our 2011 support."
