First Keys sitting of 2011

by isleofman.com 22nd January 2011

Tax, regeneration, the cost of roadworks and education provision are the main subjects covered in a relatively short House of Keys question paper for the first sitting of 2011 on Tuesday.

There are just eight for oral answer and two for written answer.

North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson wants to know if Treasury will be running an income tax voluntary disclosure scheme for the coming financial year.

Also for the Treasury Minister is a question from Onchan MHK Peter Karran about how much money has been set aside for regeneration this year - and for next - what was spent in this year's vote and whether any has already been allocated for next year's.

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne is set to answer questions from Mr Karran and Rushen MHK Juan Watterson about the costs of the Richmond Hill and Quarterbridge roadworks respectively.

Mr Karran is also wondering how long the 30mph limit will be in place on Richmond.

And he's set to ask Education Minister Eddie Teare how much of a reduction has taken place in front line education in schools and in administration in the department.

Coverage of House of Keys questions will be on Manx Radio's AM1368 frequency from 10am on Tuesday.
