Island to remember Holocaust victims

by isleofman.com 22nd January 2011

The Island’s National Holocaust memorial service will be held at Arbory Street Methodist Church in Castletown on Sunday afternoon.

Lieutenant Governor Vice Admiral Sir Paul Haddacks and Chief Minister Tony Brown will be among those giving readings at the service, which starts at 3pm, while there’ll be an address from Lord Bishop Robert Paterson.

Children from Island schools and members of churches across the Island will also be involved.

One of the event organisers, Leonard Singer, says it’s important to remember the innocent victims of the Nazi Holocaust and more recent genocides.
