Miller double seals big cup tie

Two goals from Greg Miller ensured Valkyrs A won the big match in the Wi Manx men’s Cup.

That secured a 2-1 victory over Vikings A, for whom Will Blake scored.

Castletown A defeated Saracens A by the same scoreline.

Mark Colquitt and Sven Lindque scored for Town with Steve Cottier replying for ‘Quins.

There was a surprise in the Wi Manx men’s Plate as Bacchas C thrashed Ramsey A 4-1 – Tony Bentley-Roberts, Peter Vernon-Browne, Michael Moore and Ash Oldham grabbed the goals.

In the Wi Manx women’s Cup, the dominant force hit 12.

Champions Vikings A were 12-1 winners over Bacchas A.

Kim Carney led the rout with four goals.

Katie Erock (two), Dani Coombes (two), Zoe Carney, Louise Slater, Hayley Crowe and Jen Dougal scored the others with the Bacchas’ consolation coming from Jennie Vernon-Browne.

Doubles from Eleanor Gawne and Sara Blackman helped Castletown A to a 6-2 victory over Ramsey A.

Elaine Wiseman and a Sophie Faragher penalty sealed the win with Laura Bellwood and Kate Teare on target for Ramsey.

Sibby Clucas, Kay Hullock and Rebecca Jacobs were the scorers as Castletown C saw off Ramsey B 3-1 in the Wi Manx women’s Plate.

Christine Kermeen found the net for Ramsey.

A goal from Ellen Cleator earned Valkyrs C a 1-0 victory over Bacchas C, while Plate favourites Vikings B saw off Saracens 9-2.

Dani Kelly (four), Jan Carney (two), Cassie Quirk, Becky Bannister and Bill Duffy netted for Vikings with Nikita Gicquel scoring both for Saracens.
