One of the great farming events of the Manx winter takes place today (Saturday).
The Cronk-y-Voddy ploughing match is being held at Ballakilmurrey Farm on the Poortown Road.
The road is closed at present, but access is available at the Ballig Bridge end.
Nine pairs of horses will be in action, working with experts from the Isle of Man and Ireland.
There will be all the usual Manx and World style classes, together with modern and vintage tractors.
It all gets under way at 10.15am and runs until 3.15pm, with a refreshments tent open throughout the day.
A prize presentation evening and concert, hosted by Dot Tilbury, will take place at the St John's Methodist Hall, from 7.15pm.
The entry fee includes a pie and peas supper, with all proceeds going to the Manx Foundation for the Physically Disabled.
To get to Ballakilmurrey you turn left at Ballig bridge on the TT course, just beyond Ballacraine, and head towards Peel. The field is on the right, close to the old entrance to the Poortown quarry.
