'Creative savings' help freeze rates

The Lezayre parish rate is unchanged for the third year running.

At a meeting last night (Thursday), the commissioners decided to keep the level at 67 pence in the pound for 2011 to 2012.

The board says it faces ever rising costs and overheads, but has managed to avoid any increase by careful management of expenditure and 'creative' savings.
