Top two go head-to-head in Premier League

by isleofman.com 21st January 2011

There are important games at both ends of the Canada Life Premier League this weekend.

The top two go head-to-head at Blackberry Lane as DHSOB take on St George's, with the outcome of the match looking like it will have a real influence on where the league title will go this year.

Old Boys are three points ahead of Geordies, although the latter have played two games less.

At the bottom the two sides occupying the relegation places meet at Ballafletcher, with Douglas Royal hosting Gymns.

After Michael United's win last weekend, there's now a six-point gap between them and second-bottom Royals, while Gymns prop up the table a further three points back, having picked up just one win all season.

Also at Ballafletcher, Corinthians take on Rushen in a mid-table clash, while Michael face Ayre United at home.

Meanwhile the third and fourth-placed sides - Peel and St Mary's respectively - face each other in the preliminary round of the Cu-Plas FA Cup.
