Ian Hutchinson is targeting the start of the British short circuit season in April for his comeback from injury, despite admitting he could've lost his leg.

The Bingley Bullet, who created history at last year's TT by winning all five solo races, says he will definitely be back at this year's event.

He also gave strong showings at the North West 200 and Ulster Grand Prix, and had a strong run in the British Supersport Championship, until his season was dramatically cut short.

Hutchy came off in wet conditions on the first corner of the BSC round at Silverstone and was then hit by a following machine.

After being treated by medics at the track, he was airlifted to hospital, having suffered a compound fracture to the tibia and fibula in his left leg.

He's recently revealed the extent of the injury was much worse than many thought and he had faced the prospect of losing the leg since the crash.

Despite that, Hutchy said he is now well on the road to recovery and is targeting the first round of the BSB season - at Brands Hatch in late April - for his return to racing.

It is still to be confirmed what team he will be with in 2011.
