More disappointment for Cav

by isleofman.com 21st January 2011

Mark Cavendish finished 98th in the fourth stage of the Tour Down Under, leaving him a further minute behind the leaders.

Meanwhile, event organisers are said to be reviewing their traffic management procedures, after Cav and two other riders had to ride in public traffic late in stage three.

A police motorbike reportedly stayed with the trio, but the 'green light' vehicle, which should remain behind the last rider, moved forward.

The director of the race has said the police changed the procedure because of 'management issues'.

Cav finished next to last in stage three, after crashing heavily in a sprint finish the previous day.
