Tax offenders fined up to ?1,000

Twelve Isle of Man residents have been fined a total of more than ?10,000 for failing to get their tax returns in on time.

Magistrates handed out the fines at Douglas courthouse, ordering the defendants to pay up to ?1,000 each, plus court costs.

The Treasury say the penalty can be up to ?5,000.
