by isleofman.com 21st January 2011

E-Books and e-Audio books are to be offered to the members of a library on the Island for the first time.

Douglas Borough Council aims to provide the service at the Henry Bloom Noble library in Victoria Street, from April.

Chairman of the Leisure Services Committee Stephen Pitts says thousands of titles will be available to download free of charge (play audio file):

The same downloading service will be available without charge to residents of Santon, Braddan and Lonan, whose local authorities have signed up for membership of the Douglas borough library.
