No additional burden on Ramsey rate payers

by isleofman.com 21st January 2011

THE Ramsey town rate is to remain unchanged for the next financial year.

It was announced by Richard Radcliffe, lead member for finance and policy, at the public meeting of Ramsey Town Commissioners on Wednesday, January 19.

The rate will remain at 332p in the pound.

He said that despite increased costs imposed on the commission and reduced government funding no additional burden would be placed on the ratepayers of Ramsey. This, he said, was down to rigorous scrutiny of budgets by members and the support of officers.

He also explained that investment in capital schemes for the town would continue.

The budget report will be included on the agenda of Ramsey Town Commissioners' public meeting on February 16, at 7pm.
