Young Friends of Wildlife Park to meet birds of prey

by isleofman.com 22nd January 2011

YOUNG Friends of the Curraghs Wildlife Park will have the chance to meet birds of prey when the meetings resume at the end of the month.

The first meeting of 2011 will be held on Sunday, January 30.

Duty manager Tina Jauncey will bring eagle owl Archie, harris hawk Chesney and barn owl Vern to the meeting.

She will explain how the birds find their food and what adaptations they have for hunting.

Weather permitting there will be a small flying demonstration and all the Young Friends will be able to meet the birds in person.

The Young Friends of the Curraghs Wildlife Park meeting will start at 2pm in the Wildlife Park classroom.
