An Isle of Man advocate charged with money laundering offences has taken the stand at her trial.

Jenny Holt denies handling ?400,000 stolen by former business tycoon Trevor Baines and his wife Wendy.

Thirty-year-old Miss Holt of Union Mills was part of the defence team representing the couple at their money laundering trial in the autumn of 2009.

Today (Wednesday) a court heard Miss Holt claim she received little support in the case from the senior partner at Moroney's, the firm where she worked, despite her lack of experience in criminal matters.

The trial will continue on Thursday morning.
