Slippery road conditions cause accidents

by isleofman.com 19th January 2011

MOTORISTS have been advised that there are slippery road conditions Island wide.

The coast road between Peel and Kirk Michael is currently blocked at Glen Mooar due to a road traffic collision.

Creg Willey's Hill has been reported as "particularly bad" with black ice according to the Emergency Services Joint Control Room.

There was another road traffic collision, involving a single vehicle, on the hill earlier this morning but the road is now clear.

Top Road in Crosby is reported as being "treacherous" due to the ice and motorists are advised to take an alternative route.

The Department of Infrastructure have been informed and will attend as soon as possible to grit the road surface.
