Squash news from the Isle of Man

by isleofman.com 17th January 2011

THE latest results from the Isle of Man Squash Rackets Association:

B league results:

Jewel Tech (225) v All About Gardens (148)

Onchan Outcasts (173) v Alloms Jewellers Juniors (222)

Problems with court bookings at the NSC meant that the resumption of B League team matches, following the Christmas break, got off to a faltering start with some matches having to be re-scheduled.

At Mount Murray Jewel Tech maintained their 100 percent record with a win over All About Gardens.

Jason McCausland had  a convincing win over Jasneet Singh. Mark Stratford lost the first game to Derek Tootill on the deciding point before coming back to take the next three including saving four game points before taking the match on the deciding rally.

Garrett Du Toit had a straight sets win in a good natured game against Oscar Hjalmas while Gordon Beresford needed a fourth game to beat Lawrence Rea after losing the second on the deciding point.

Shaun Callow needed all five games to narrowly beat Shane Martin in a game that ebbed and flowed with some unorthodox squash.

Allom's Jewellers Juniors won convincingly away to the Onchan Outcasts.

Mark Henson surprised himself by taking a game off Jason Crease. Aleyn Taggart and Helen Cave were both involved in five set thrillers with mixed fortunes.

Toby Woolard had the edge as for the visitors, while Liam Dixon narrowly lost out. Chris Cave and Hadyn McLarney both recorded straight sets wins over Stuart Highy and Keith Whiteway respectively
