Setback for Youth Centre

by isleofman.com 15th January 2011

The race for promotion in JCK Division Two remains wide open.

With runaway leaders St John’s not in action, some of the sides chasing the second spot were in action.

The big game went the way of Onchan as Rob Callow and Mike Spencer fired them to a 2-0 victory over Ramsey Youth Centre.

Doubles from Tom Beard and Adam Trussell and one from Nicky Callister maintained Colby’s promotion hopes with a 5-2 victory over Douglas and District, for whom Paul Craig and Kevin Doyle scored.

There was a nine goal thriller as the Police edged out their neighbours Pulrose at Groves Road.

Ben Binns (two), Barry English and Mike Skillen were on target for Pulrose but it wasn’t enough to earn them a point.

Braddan consolidated eighth spot with a 6-3 victory at Marown, whose marksmen were James Sharp, Richard Mulhearn and Neil Gibson.

The sides shared four goals in the first half before Braddan took charge in the second period.
