New restaurant at Douglas Railway Station announced

THE new restaurant at Douglas Steam Railway Station has been revealed.

 

The Tickethall will be open for breakfast from Monday, January 17, and will take the place of the former restaurant Green's.

 

It will be run by Steve Quirke who said: "For many years now I have seen Douglas Railway Station as a great opportunity and a landmark place for the Isle of Man.

 

"My team and I will do all I can to add to this and we are looking forward to the exciting times ahead."

 

The new restaurant is committed to sourcing and utilising Manx produce and will cater for a vegetarian clientele.

 

There will also be the addition of locally supplied fish dishes with fresh fish delivered on the steam railway during the operating season from Paddy's Hooked on Fish in Port St Mary.

 

The Tickethall will be open eight till late and will also serve homemade cakes and desserts, hot drinks, breakfasts and takeout food.

 

Community, Culture and Leisure Minister David Cretney MHK said: "Douglas Railway station has been the location for quality food, teas and cakes for a number of years.

 

"I am pleased to hear that the new operators are not only going to continue this but further develop a menu and atmosphere that I am sure our customers will enjoy."
