A SERVICE to remember the innocent victims of the Holocaust will take place in Castletown later this month.

The National Holocaust Memorial Service, co-ordinated by the Council of Ministers, will be held at the Methodist Church in Arbory Street at 3pm on Sunday, January 23.

The theme for this year is "Untold Stories" and will refer to more recent genocides in Europe and Africa as well as the Holocaust.

The service will be supported by schools and churches from across the Island and will include an address by the Lord Bishop the Right Reverend Robert Paterson.

Readers will include His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor Vice Admiral Sir Paul Haddacks KCB and the Chief Minister Tony Brown MHK.

Students from Ballakermeen, Castle Rushen High School, St Ninian's, King William’s, QE11 and Ramsey Grammar will also attend.

The service of remembrance is held annually in line with national commemorations in the United Kingdom.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
