Cost saving makes rate freeze possible

Castletown commisioners say a rate freeze won't affect services for the people of the town.

The town's rates are set to remain unchanged for the coming financial year, staying at ?3.20 in the pound.

Chairman Colin Leather says in making the decision, his board took into account the difficulties Castletown's ratepayers were already having to face.

He says the freeze has been possible because of a number of cost saving measures:
