Medical review not cost driven, says MHK

The MHK with political responsibity for the TT says the appointment of a new chief medical officer is all about continued safety and nothing to do with saving money.

Geoff Corkish hosted a meeting between race organisers ACU Events Limited and Motorsport Medical Services to resolve the situation, after Dr Heike Romer wasn't retained in the role.

The position has been taken by local GP Dr Gruff Evans who has experience of working in TT race control.

Mr Corkish says it's essential with such a big event that all procedures are reviewed on a regular basis:
