Action could drag on for years , says journalist

It could be another decade before legal matters relating to the Solway Harvester tragedy are fully resolved.

That's the view of Scottish journalist Mike McKenzie, who has followed the story since the scallop dredger sank in Manx waters, during a storm, eleven years ago yesterday (Tuesday).

He has described as 'derisory' the ?15,000 - minus legal costs - offered to the parents of one of the crewmen in compensation for the loss of their son, and thinks the matter will now go to a civil court:
