Castletown's rate is set to stay the same for the coming financial year.

The town's commissioners say it will remain at ?3.20, having risen by 4.9 per cent last time.

Board chairman Colin Leather says when freezing the rates for twelve months the board took into account the difficulties Castletown's ratepayers are already having to face

He says the commissioners are committed to minimising the effects of the current economic situation.
