Department 'manipulated consultation' - claim

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne has been accused of jumping the gun on the possibility of an all-Island taxi system, and his department of manipulating a recent public consultation.

On Manx Radio's Talking Heads today (Monday), John Faragher of Elegance Taxis said the consultation hadn't even officially finished, as a report from a specialist adviser was still awaited.

Earlier, Mr Gawne said the results of the survey indicated a preference for an all-Island service, but Mr Faragher claimed the decision to go all-Island was made last year.
