PUPILS from Anagh Coar primary school finished a topic on food in style by visiting a French restaurant to sample foreign cuisine.
The pupils who are in year one and two visited the restaurant L'Experience in Douglas.
Owners Michael and Belinda Murphy set the restaurant up with candles, glasses, side plates and cutlery ready for the children to take part in a full restaurant dining experience.
First on the menu was warm French baguette followed by French fries and a selection of vegetables including French beans, carrots in garlic butter and the restaurants homemade ratatouille.
The children were then shown a live lobster which they could touch before it was cooked for them to taste. Other French delicacies on the menu included snails, frogs' legs and mussels.
Pupil Joe Neil, 5, said: "My favourite thing about the trip was all the food. I cleaned my plate and ate about six mussels. They were yummy."
Headteacher Rob Coole said: "This was such a brilliant morning out for the children. Mr and Mrs Murphy took time out of their busy schedule to set the restaurant up for our pupils and to cook such a wide range of expensive and specialist foods.
"I was amazed at how many of the children tried the snails and frogs legs and how much they enjoyed them. It was so lovely to see the children encourage each other to try foods that they would not normally get the chance to eat."
