Gas works force road closure in Peel

by isleofman.com 6th January 2011

ESSENTIAL work will be carried out as part of the Natural Gas Extension Project in Peel from next week.

Manx Gas will be working in the Ballaquane Road area of Peel from Wednesday, January 12, until the end of the month.

The Poortown Road from Ballalough Farm to Ballaquane Road will be closed so that a new gas pipeline can be laid. This will enable the new high pressure natural gas supply point to be connected to the existing gas infrastructure in the town.

Andy Bainton, Manx Gas distribution manager, said: "Manx Gas will do its utmost to minimise the inevitable inconvenience but this is essential work which will ultimately result in natural gas and all its benefits being made available to people living and working in the area."

Access to Ballalough Farm will be maintained and advance warning signage will be displayed at appropriate locations.
