TT landmark to be demolished?

by isleofman.com 6th January 2011

A public meeting has been called in Kirk Michael to give residents and biking fans a chance to air their views on potential alterations to a landmark on the TT course.

The wall at Douglas Road corner may have to be demolished if Dandara wins permission to site the entrance to a new housing estate there.

The meeting has been called by Michael MHK David Cannan who has invited the developer to put its plans on display.

Chairman of Michael Commissioners Steve Hamer has been asked to address the meeting, to explain the authority's stand on the issue. Neither Dandara nor Mr Hamer have yet confirmed they will be attending.

Mr Cannan says it's a matter of concern to local people and TT spectators (play audio file):

The meeting is in St Michael's Hall on Monday, January 17, at 7.30 pm.
