A CYCLIST crashed into a hedge after becoming ill.

The accident happened at 1.30pm in Whitebridge Hill, Main Road, Onchan, yesterday (Monday).

The male, who was travelling towards Laxey, was taken to Noble's Hospital and the road was closed for half an hour while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Police would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding as a result of the road closure.

Originally the Emergency Services' Joint Control Room said the incident involved a motorcyclist but police have confirmed it was a cyclist that was involved.
