Fell race dedicated to former GP

by isleofman.com 2nd January 2011

The New Year's Day St John's Fell Race attracted a record entry of 122 runners.

The race, sponsored by Supercards, was won in convincing style by British veteran fell champion Lloyd Taggart, with Rachel Franklin the first female across the finish line.

In the junior section, the boys were led home by Oliver Lockley and the girls by Breesha Cain.

The prize for the best fancy dress was won by Richard Trubshaw who 'flew' around the three mile course dressed as a parrot.

The race was dedicated to Dr David Young, a keen fell runner, who died last year.

It raised around ?700 for Hospice.
