A MAN was assaulted in the Oak Avenue area of Pulrose in the early hours of yesterday (New Year's Day).

It happened between 2.15am and 2.45am and it is believed there were numerous witnesses who have not yet spoken to police.

The attack was reported as being unprovoked.

Police said the man's injuries were not serious. Anyone with information who has not spoken to the police should contact Constable Glen Corlett at Lord Street Police Station or Police Headquarters on 631212.
