Manx nationalists will gather at Hango Hill outside Castletown later today (Sunday) to salute the man who helped preserve the Island's independence.
The execution of Illiam Dhone - or William Christian - on January the 2nd 1663, is commemorated each year with a ceremony at the coastal spot where he was put to death.
It's organised by the Celtic League and Manx nationalist party Mec Vannin, with speeches in English and Manx followed by a wreath laying and church service at Malew.
Illiam Dhone was stirred by the people of Mann to stop the Island being given back to the English crown.
MecVannin chairman Mark Kermode says Islanders owe him a great deal of gratitude.
Today’s ceremony starts at 2pm.
