Manx Gas has been dealing with a problem in Douglas today (Friday).
Engineers were looking for the source of a leak, at the junction of Circular Road and Bucks Road.
The work was expected to continue to the end of the day, and possibly into tomorrow.
Buses have been rerouted, and traffic heading down Bucks Road has been prevented from turning right into Circular Road.
Diversion signs were put in place.
