Inquest into woman who died in hospital

An inquest into the death of an elderly woman at Noble's Hospital has been opened and adjourned at Douglas courthouse.

Eighty year old Beryl Leeming from Third Avenue in Dougas, was rushed in to hospital on 11th December suffering abdominal pains.

She was was treated for bowel-related problems but died in hospital a week later.

The inquest was told Mrs Leeming died from respiratory failure after a series of medical complications.

Coroner Alistair Montgomerie adjourned the inquest for further investigations.
