Traders are celebrating after record numbers of shoppers took to the stores over the festive period.
Despite the snow and ice during the weekend before Christmas, they say they have done bumper business this year.
The Thursday before Christmas Day was the busiest day ever for the Strand Shopping Centre, with nearly 20,000 people picking up last minute presents.
Centre manager John Shakespeare says it was also busy following Christmas Day, with people spending gift vouchers and taking advantage of the sales.
