Nov 2010: Snow causes travel chaos

by isleofman.com 4th January 2011

SNOW in the Island led to school closures, road closures and transport problems in November.

Around 80 passengers spent a night in the Ronaldsway Terminal Building due to the snow - including a wedding party.

The bride and groom shared their honeymoon night sleeping not only with family and friends but strangers too.

Airport staff remained at work to look after the passengers.

It was trecherous on the roads with the snow and ice leading to a number of road closures and the bad weather affected some health services.

And what Island residents didn't know then was that they would have similar problems again the following month.
