SEVEN intrepid fundraisers have raised money for The Children's Centre by trekking along the Great Wall of China.
The team of seven travelled to Beijing to undertake the challenge for a week in October and spent seven hours a day walking along the historic route.
Anita Rice, Ben Truman, Sue MacGregor, Daxa Patel, Joan Kelly and Lorna Trevethan all took part in the challenge which saw the group walk along newly restored sections of the wall.
They also went further afield and discovered stretches of un-restored wall which presented challenges including narrow sections and crumbling wall with sheer drops either side. The group were also able to help restore a section of the wall by placing their own bricks.
The trek to China is the fourth oversees trip that The Children's Centre have offered since 2008 and so far more than £100,000 has been raised for the charity as a result.
Lorna Trevethan said: "The team of seven have done a fantastic job in raising money for The Children's Centre. In total to date they have raised £12,961.69 which will make a huge difference to the work that the charity does across the Island - including the work of the Child Contact Centre."
The Child Contact Centre is a friendly neutral setting where children of separated families can spend time with one or both parents and sometimes other family members. This service is offered completely free to the families who use it.
In 2010 it has offered over 300 hours of contact for 252 families across the Isle of Man.
