Festive cheer for those in need

The Salvation Army's aim is to reach out to those in need, and this Christmas is no exception.

On Christmas Day its volunteers are providing a meal for around 50 needy Manx people at the Douglas Citadel in Lord Street.

The band will also be visiting and giving gifts to those who will be spending the festive season in Noble's hospital, the hospice and Jurby prison.

Captain Simon Clampton of the Douglas Corps says the Christmas programme is possible thanks to the generosity of the Manx public (first part of audio file):
