A Christmas message from the Chief Minister

by isleofman.com 25th December 2010

A Christmas message for isleofman.com readers from Chief Minister Tony Brown MHK

"In 2010 the Isle of Man embarked on a five-year strategy to rebalance its public finances following the revision of its VAT revenue sharing arrangements with the UK.

"I have every confidence that the strategy will be successfully delivered, but to do so we will have to face up to some tough choices and take decisions that are responsible and realistic rather than easy and popular.

"The Island is in good shape to deal with its challenges, having built up considerable resources in both the private and public sectors over the past 25 years.

"I would like to thank the thousands, in all walks of life, who contribute to the social and economic success of our community, and wish all the people of the Isle of Man a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."
