Extension of carol season 'a positive thing'

Carols will be sung in churches all over the Island this evening (Friday), by those who can brave the icy conditions.

Scores of community services and events planned for the fortnight before Christmas have been postponed because of the weather, with many now rescheduled for after Christmas.

It's a break with tradition, but only recent tradition according to Bishop Robert.

He says carols were traditionally sung only from Christmas Eve onwards, and believes the enforced changes this festive season are a positive thing:
