Extreme measures used on frozen pipes

Flame throwers have been used to try and restore water supplies at Pulrose.

Some days ago the water froze in pipes entering new properties, just opposite the National Sports Centre.

They are some of the 200 homes around the Island which are currently without supplies.

Staff from Douglas Borough Council joined Water Authority workers to try and resolve the problem.

Water and Sewerage Authority chief executive John Smith spoke to John Moss:
