Flights delays and cancellations still possible

by isleofman.com 22nd December 2010

There is a slightly brighter picture on the travel front today (Wednesday).

Isle of Man Airport opened on time, but there are still problems at airports elsewhere in the British Isles, so travellers are being told to prepare for delays or cancellations.

As usual, passengers can seek information from their flight operators, but should always seek to check in on time.

It was another very cold night last night, although not as severe as the previous two.

However, roads are still described as slippery and drivers are being told to drive according to the conditions.

The Mountain Road is still closed (7am), as are the Brandywell, Injebrek, Druidale, Tholt-y-Will, Glen Moar and Shoulder Roads, along with all the routes leading up to the Shoulder and Ronague roads.

Crellins Hill and Mona Drive in Douglas are closed due to sheet ice.

Police say all the above roads are due to be inspected later.
