As temperatures in the Isle of Man plunge to some of the lowest levels in living memory, a weather statistic at the other end of the scale has emerged.
The Met Office at Ronaldsway has confirmed that 2010 is already the sunniest year on record!
The tally of hours stood at 1,817 up to Monday night, leaving eleven more days to further boost the figure.
The previous record was set in 1955, when sunshine hours totalled 1,810.
