Access road discussions are 'above board'

The minister for education and children says there is no secrecy behind discussions which could lead to an access road being constructed through the playing fields at Kirk Michael Primary School.

Talks are ongoing between developer Dandara, Kirk Michael Commissioners and the department, with Dandara wanting to develop land in the area and construct a roundabout at Douglas Road Corner.

It's being suggested the company could swap a parcel of land with the DEC.

Michael MHK David Cannan has claimed the views of his constituents are being disrespected, three years after residents emphatically opposed such a move.

But Mr Teare says everything is being done above board:
