THE Island's first Manx vintage transport museum opened its doors to the public in April.
A dedicated group of enthusiasts from the Manx Transport Trust were behind the project which highlights the Island's rich transport history.
Around 25 public and commercial road vehicles are on display at the premises in Jurby including some that are on loan from the Department of Tourism and Leisure and others which are privately owned.
Richard Davis, Manx Transport Museum Trust chairman, said: "It is a dream come true. We have been fighting for this for quite a few years. It's nice to see it finally happening. We are trying to save as many vehicles as we can before they disappear."
The museum was officially opened by Chief Minister Tony Brown who drove a modern bus through a length of tape made of bus tickets.
Update: By the start of December the museum had had over 11,500 visitors.
