MANX2.COM has launched a new aircraft safety briefing video on its aircraft starring children from the Isle of Man.
The Manx2 Factor was open to all primary school children in years one to six and was run in conjunction with the Department of Education and Children (DEC). It came to a close last week when the final video was unveiled at an Oscars style cermony at the Palace Cinema.
Chairman of Manx2.com Noel Hayes said: "The children were fantastic and worked enormously hard to learn their lines. The film which is now being shown on our new large format screens is unqiue, unusual and entertaining.
"Passenger safety is our first priority and this film is already grabbing the full attention of our passengers."
Six children were awarded speaking parts in the safety video after a "Boot Camp" audition process. They were judged by representatives from Manx2.com, The DEC and the Sefton Group. The rest of the finalists were offered non-speaking roles in the videos.
John Gill, head of legal and adminstartive services at the DEC, said: "The department was delighted to support Manx2.com with its project to produce a safety video for use on its routes around the British Isles.
"The young people who entered were all very good and it was a difficult job to produce a shortlist of 20. The resulting video will allow many people to see what great talent the young people of our schools have. Our thanks go to Noel and his team for giving the children such a marvellous opportunity."
Noel continued: "We are very grateful to all our partners in this project – especially the Department of Education and Children and all the teachers at the individual schools. Plus a big thanks to Tracey Bell for make-up and hairdressers Hot Gossip."
The six children selected for speaking parts in the video are Caitlin Collister, Zachary Elliott, Thomas Fayle, Heather Parsons, Amy Playford and Abigail Sayle.
The other children with non-speaking parts are Daniella Bettridge, Joshua Brown, Peter Cannell, Brandon Dunigan, Olivia Garvey, Ellis Hurd, William King, Beth Merriman, Jack Roberts, Caleb Schade, James Slick and William Stokes.
