The views of Kirk Michael residents are being disrespected, according to the MHK for the area.

David Cannan is making the claim after it emerged discussions had gone on in private between developer Dandara, Kirk Michael Commissioners and the Department of Education to create an access road through the playing field of the village school.

Dandara wants to develop land in the area, with a roundabout at Douglas Road Corner, and it's being suggested it could swap a parcel of land with the Department of Education.

However, similar plans were given an emphatic thumbs down by local residents, following a consultation exercise three years ago.
