THERE is likely to be minor disruption to postal deliveries today (Friday) due to the snow.
Isle of Man Post Office is providing a delivery service today as normal however the closure of the airport this morning meant that the airmail from the UK has not arrived in time for this morning's delivery.
A spokesman said: "We are sorry for this delay."
Mail has arrived by ferry and customers generally can still expect a busy delivery of mail this morning.
The poor weather has had the greatest effect in the south of the Island (IM9 postcodes) and while the delivery office is attempting a full delivery there is likely to be some disruption to delivery and collection services there, with Ballabeg, Port St Mary and Port Erin likely to be the worst affected.
Douglas, Peel and Ramsey delivery offices (IM1-8) are undertaking a full delivery as normal and while they do not expect significant problems there may be some addresses where it may be impossible or unsafe to attempt delivery.
The spokesman added: "Isle of Man Post Office is sorry for any inconvenience this may cause to customers but is working hard to ensure any disruption to deliveries is minimal."
