Changes at Diabetes Centre aren't cost driven

Health bosses are defending plans to reduce the number of patients on the books at the Diabetes Centre at Noble's Hospital.

Director of Health Strategy and Performance Norman McGregor Edwards says transferring around 800 people with minimal complications to GP practices will take pressure off the centre.

He claims the move, which will take effect in February, will reduce waiting times for more serious cases.

Mr McGregor Edwards is also insisting it isn't a cost saving measure:
