Patient simulator donated to hospital

Noble's Hospital has a new piece of training kit, the envy of many establishments twice its size.

Sim Man 3G is a state of the art patient simulator which can be programmed for a wide range of medical scenarios, such as heart attacks and strokes.

The full-size latex mannequin can also react to medical interventions, giving the Island's doctors, nurses and paramedics unrivalled training opportunities.

Sim Man cost more than ?50,000 and has been bought for the hospital by the Isle of Man Medical Research Charity, to mark the retirement of its long serving chairman, former Deemster Jack Corrin.
